NEW YORK, NY - MAY 05: Beyonce and Jay-Z attend the "Charles James: Beyond Fashion" Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5, 2014 in New York City.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the new ambassadors of the luxious jewerly brand, Tiffany & Co. and in typical Bey and Jay fashion, they’ve made a historical mark in their newest campaign photos for the brand.

Wearing the iconic 128.54 carat Tiffany Diamond, which has only been worn by three other people, Beyoncé makes history as the first black woman to wear the jewel.

The three other precessors of the jewel were Mary Whitehouse, wife of American diplomat Edwin Sheldon Whitehouse, Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn, and Grammy-winning singer Lady Gaga per CNN.

This is the first time the Tiffany Diamond has been used in a campaign, the luxury jewelry brand said in a press release.

“Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the epitome of the modern love story,” Alexandre Arnault, executive vice president of product and communications, said in the release. “As a brand that has always stood for love, strength and self-expression, we could not think of a more iconic couple that better represents Tiffany’s values. We are honored to have the Carters as a part of the Tiffany family.”

Jay-Z also brings the luxury as he wears a “Jean Schlumberger’s legendary Bird on a Rock brooch, reconstructed as a pair of one-of-a-kind cuff links” complementing his black tuxedo.

Even the backgroup in which the power couple stands alongside makes a historical debut. The turquoise painting is by none other than the world-known painter Jean-Michel Basquiat. Basquiat’s 1982 Equals Pi came from a private collection and has never been seen before in public, according to Tiffany.

The photos will also be accompanied by a Super 8 filmed snippet of the couple with Bey’s vocals making a rendition of “Moon River,” a song that was memorably used in the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

The couple stars in the “ABOUT LOVE” campaign which is set to launch globally on September 2, two days before Beyonce’s 40th birthday.
