If you’ve served our country, everyone at Star 107.9 is deeply appreciative of your service to our country!

As Veterans Day 2020 comes around, if you’re a veteran or active-duty service member, we want to thank you for the sacrifices you make every day on behalf of each of us personally as well as our country.

Here’s a look at how America is honoring you with a special focus on some of the brave Americans currently serving here in the Vegas Valley.

About Veterans Day: Veterans Day was birthed on November 11th, 1918 after the end of World War I. All fighting halted and the Versailles Peace Treaty went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918. Then, in 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11th as the first commemoration of Armistice Day. Then, it was properly named Veterans Day and given an official holiday in 1938 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
