The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has started making compliance checks fo businesses that are supposed to be closed for 30-days under Governor Steve Sisolak’s order. Sisolak updated his order Friday in an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19. Officer, dressed in plain clothes are being sent to non-essential businesses that have been reported to be open through calls to 311 or emails sent to the department. Business owners or managers will be given copies of the governor’s order and a letter from Metro saying they are in violation. Officers will then stand by as the business is closed. If business owners believe they are essential, they can appeal to the city or county business license agency.
