The latest trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX dropped today and here’s everything we know so far about the galaxy far, far away.
The new movie is called Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise Of Skywalker. It’s set to hit theaters Christmas day, 2019.
Aside from that, the films director, JJ Abrams said that “the movie doesn’t pick up immediately after the last film, some time has gone by.”
He’s also gone saying that “this movie, in addition to being the end of three trilogies, it also has to work as its own movie,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Meaning, that Star Wars: Episode IX will tie all trilogies together and be the end of the iconic Skywalker saga.
JJ Abrams is bringing back past characters to correctly end Star Wars.
He’s using unused footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens to bring back Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia.
Billy Dee Williams returns to his famous character Lando Calrissian. Also, the return of evil Sith Lord Emperor Palpatine, Ian McDiarmid’s character.

Star Wars: Episode IX wraps up over 40 years of Star Wars.
