Today, December 1, is World Aids Day.
Many different organizations will be bringing awareness to the HIV and AIDS fight in various different ways. According to KTNV, there will be many local activities to take part in including free HIV testing at the Downtown Las Vegas Mobile Testing unit and The Southern Nevada Health Clinic, a free documentary screening at the Mob Museum, and The Gay and Lesbian Community Center will have various events throughout the day.
In addition, many of the city’s landmarks will turn their marquees red at 8 p.m. tonight to show their support. Properties participating in this include Downtown Summerlin, Las Vegas City Hall, Westgate Las Vegas, and multiple venues along The Strip. For the full list of participants, visit KTNV.
