Star Report

The Lady Gaga documentary, “Five Foot Two”, hit Netflix recently giving an up-close-and-personal look into the pint-sized popstar’s life and career.

But the new Netflix original documentary isn’t the only one of its kind. Netflix is currently serving up plenty of other documentaries about your favorite stars that are worth watching. Here are a few to check out today:

Never Say Never

Before he was the “Despacito” singing, heavily-tattooed Justin Bieber we all know (and love?) today, he was a clean-cut pop star who was the object of millions of tweens’ affection. This documentary follows the Biebs as he prepares for his 2010 world tour. It’s available on Netflix.

Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of

If you grew up listening to/obsessing over The Backstreet Boys, this one is a must-watch. It follows the guys as they prepare to release a new album and head out on a world tour, but it also gives plenty of backstory on how, exactly, they became the group that shaped an entire genre of music. You can catch it on Netflix.

Part Of Me

Get the tissues ready as you watch this, because this Netflix documentary about Katy Perry is an emotional one. It was filmed right as the pop star was simultaneously going through a divorce with Russell Brand and embarking on a world tour. There’s one particularly poignant moment that will stick with you months after you’ve finished watching: Perry is sobbing about her heartbreak seconds before she hits the stage, then you watch her collect herself, and turn into the smiling, energetic performer we’re all used to seeing.

My Crazy, Beautiful Life

This documentary series was filmed over the course of two years and focuses on singer Ke$ha. It was shot by her brother and gives an incredible look at her development both as an artist and a person. Watch her record an album, interact with fans, and try to deal with increasing amounts of pressure. You can check it out on MTV’s website.

Next time you’re ready to relax on the couch, rather than watching the Kardashians argue about who stole whose Maserati to drive to their photo shoot, fire up one of these documentaries and gain some insight into your favorite stars.
