Elton John Fans Prepare Yourselves

After a historic career, Elton John announced today (January 24) that he is retiring from the road, but not without one last, very long goodbye to fans.

In a public announcement hosted by Anderson Cooper (see the event in its entirety below), John said his farewell tour would begin in September 2018 and would travel all across the world in 300 shows over the time span of three years.

He cites wanting to spend more time with his children and husband as the reason for his exit from the road, however, Sir Elton did stress that he would still write and record music.

"I'm 71. I can't physically do the traveling anymore,” said John. “I want to be at home. I really want to spend time with my children at home. I've had an incredible life, but life is all about change…I haven’t had much time off in my life.  I definitely want to make a couple more albums, but that will be easy since I can do that at home.  I want to see friends. I want to spend time at my house and with my photography collection. I'm really looking forward to this tour and I'm really looking forward to the 300th date."

Confirmed tour dates (so far) are listed below.
